Properties held by an SCI are not subject to the same restrictions, because they belong to a separate legal entity. Setting up an SCI therefore makes it possible to get round the limit of one property per person, while centralising management and taxation. An SCI also facilitates the transfer of assets, which can be a major advantage.

The process of setting it up involves drawing up articles of association, registering it with the commercial court and keeping annual accounts. All in all, SCI is a practical and legally compliant solution for owners of several properties in Chamonix, although it does require some administrative follow-up.
